## Preface (Editor's Note)

*Singing Bowl Healer Training 7.0 (Large-Print Edition)* is a systematic manual for singing-bowl healing enthusiasts and aspiring practitioners. It begins with the *instrument*, bridges through *theory*, lands in *hands-on practice*, and finally returns to *life wisdom* and *natural therapies*.

We hope this open-source manual lets more people approach sound healing at a low threshold and zero cost, and gives practitioners a reference that can be taught, self-studied, and verified. The techniques and viewpoints in this manual come from long-term practical teaching; limited by space and context, some expressions lean toward felt sense and experience. We welcome the open-source community to revise and improve it together.

## Who This Is For

- Enthusiasts with zero prior background in singing-bowl healing;
- Aspiring healers who want systematic training;
- Practitioners in yoga, meditation, and mind-body-spirit fields;
- Training institutions as a teaching outline / reference.

## How to Use This Manual

- **Learning order:** We suggest progressing along the path *Acquaintance → Theory → Practice → Wisdom → Natural Therapies* — entering the Way through the instrument.
- **Self-check tools:** Each chapter opens with *Learning Objectives* and closes with a *Chapter Summary* and *Reflection Questions* to test your grasp.
- **Illustrations:** All figures are collected in the `../docs/media/` folder; refer to them while reading.
- **Open collaboration:** This manual is open-sourced under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Revisions are welcome via the repository (see [`CONTRIBUTING.md`](../CONTRIBUTING.md)).

## Healing Safety Notice

> ⚠️ Singing-bowl healing is a complementary approach to relaxation and self-exploration; it cannot replace medical diagnosis or treatment. If clear symptoms appear, please seek timely medical care.

**Contraindications & cautions:**

- During pregnancy (especially the first trimester), avoid placing bowls directly on the abdomen or using strong vibration.
- Those with a pacemaker or metal implants should avoid strong magnetic-field / strong-vibration areas.
- Those with a history of epilepsy should use caution with intense striking and flicker-type guidance.
- During acute episodes of severe mental illness, proceed only under professional supervision.
- Keep volume moderate; avoid prolonged high-decibel striking that could damage hearing.
- Before every session, complete *Self Energy Protection* and *Pre-session Communication* (see Chapter 3 individual session flow).

For more on professional ethics and practitioner state, see Chapter 4, *Basic Professional Requirements for Healers*.
